GALLUP -- Funeral services for Victoria Jane Peters, 53, will be held Friday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel in Gallup. Burial will follow at the Tohatchi community cemetery in Tohatchi, N.M. Victoria was born March 16, 1961, in Los Angeles, Calif., into the Dziltl'ahnii (Mountain Cove Clan), born for Tábaahá (Water's Edge Clan). Her nali is Naasht'ézhi dine'é (Zuni); chei is Naakai dine'é (Mexican). She died June 1, 2014. Victoria attended Tohatchi High School and worked for the Navajo Nation as an administrative assistant and for the city of Gallup. Victoria is survived by her mother Shirley Mae Peter, Johnny Peters, Priscilla Peters, Frederick Peters, Bernadine Bitsie, Virgil Peters, and Christopher Peters. Victoria is preceded in death by her father, George Peter Jr.; maternal grandparents, Nora P. Watson and George Peters Sr.; and paternal grandparents, Alice and Tom Robertson. Pallbearers will be Nathan Nakai, Jayson Nakai, Everson Nakai, Bradford Bitsie, Fred Peters Jr., Eric Peters, Jacob Claw, Beau Bitsie, and Derrick Peters. Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
