Wilma P. Mankiller
1985 – 1995
Born in Stilwell, Mankiller is recognized for developing rural areas and providing services for Cherokee citizens. During her term, the Cherokee Nation grew from 55,000 to 156,000 tribal citizens. Through her work, she earned world-wide recognition for the Cherokee people.
